Exporting Class Rage

Those of us who were around when the Gulf Wars happened remember the absolute glee the US American public took when Saddam Hussein was discovered in his spider hole (tunnel hideout), the various ways he was humiliated and mocked while in custody, and his ignominious and botched execution. This was a bad man, we were told, feel glad he suffers and dies.
The GW Bush/Cheney White House in the USA, at the time, erected the first international network of secret Black Sites used for illegal kidnapping, torture, and disappearing. The CIA would use “rendition flights” on CIA-cover owned private jets or on military aircraft to extrajudicially move “targets” to different jurisdictions without any legal oversight where they could be drugged, tortured, and/or killed. At one Black Site in Uzbekistan code named , two prisoners were tortured to death by boiling, and those are the ones we know about. Meanwhile, after the US invasion of Iraq, Iraqi prisons such as, notoriously, Abu Gharib, were turned into precisely the torture centers the US public was told they were there to eliminate. Guantanamo Bay Naval Base in Cuba (due to an old treaty) was also setup as a large Black Site where prisoners could be held without legal rights or human rights monitoring. It is still active as of this writing, although its population has gradually decreased as clearly innocent prisoners were freed.
Fast-forward to the present day (2024 as of this writing), where a US CEO whose signature presided over the medical murder of untold tens of thousands of Americans in the “health insurance” scam called the “US health system” was assassinated. The Capitalist US media shrieked and wailed about the injustice of the assassination, while glossing over the town’s worth of people Thompson had signed the death warrant of. And yet, this time, the American public exploded *in support* of the alleged assassin. At long last, class rage came home to roost and the corporate media was unable to contain it. Currently, the alleged assassin has better poll numbers than the sitting President of the USA.
The point is the USA has always sublimated the class rage of American workers by redirecting it at whichever nation the US was currently overthrowing and erecting a Fascist puppet government in. Always blame the darker-skinned *foreign* OTHER, we’re told, in perfect 1984 fashion per George Orwell. We have always been at war with Oceania.* That old gambit has finally failed, after millions of Americans have died from lack of healthcare access, or had their lives destroyed by medical debt, or by student loans, or landlord greed, or exploitative pig Capitalist bosses at work. That’s over now, we increasingly know, collectively in our masses, that the enemy is right here at home, mugging us with every breath we take. And there are so many more of us than them. They can be gotten to. No billionaire bunker or ex-mil security team can hold back the flood of mass class rage and the uprising class consciousness that feeds it.
Everything has changed now. Workers are waking up that our interests are in common with other workers, and that the interests of the Capitalist oppressor enemies are alien to us. Refuse to export your rage onto the targets of imperialism — class rage belongs here at home, on the heads of the bosses and landlords who ruin our lives for their own decadence.
