Engineered Numbness

US society, such as it is, is an Anglo-Saxon dominated construct with heavy Puritan foundations. Most of us spend much of our lives censoring our thoughts and our words, not out of real concern for others but out of some neo-Platonic sense of propriety, or from some gender construction that was coerced upon us.

We don’t have to apologize for feelings, having them or saying them. We do have to apologize when we hurt others. Our emotional intelligence has been cut off at the knees, by design, to keep us weaker and more isolated. Who better to exploit for labor and market to than isolated, lonely, hurting people?

Capitalism steals our humanity. Seize it back. There will be a reckoning for the rest that’s been taken, but first we must rediscover and free our minds and hearts.
